Organizational Ideas for the hall closet and kitchen cabinets

Turn a hall closet into a mudroom.  Many homes come with hall closets, where homeowners hang coats. That doesn’t take care of the backpacks, shoes, sporting equipment and other items your family brings home and leaves at the enterance. Try removing the closet doors and adding hooks and shelves to make a space that better suits your family’s needs. Creating an organized space to keep the area clear of extra everyday items.

Another organization design tip is to add pull out shelves to your kitchen cabinets. Add pullouts, shelves and other organizing tools inside your kitchen cabinets.  Adding pullout drawers requires some skill and tools, but inserting wire shelves or a lazy Susan for spices takes no skill and increases your storage space.

Great Wall Decorations with Aged picture frames

Next time you are at a flee market or garage sale look for aged, ornate frames. Create a wall of spray-painted frames. This is a quick, easy, and inexpensive way to create a focal point for a small room, den, bedroom or even an entryway. With a fresh coat of color they can look modern and bright. Use bold and bright colors to make them stand out. Use glossy or matte finishes for an interesting look. Your local hardware store can custom cut a mirror to fit in your frames. Fun and exciting look and project.

More decorating ideas with wallpaper

Light up a faux fireplace. Line the inside with a pretty pattern. Divide and decorate. Cover the panels of an old screen with a variety of cheerful prints and solids. Or make your own screen by joining bifold doors together with hinges. Add a backdrop. Transform an open shelving with alternating prints, adhered to the wall behind.  Go upstairs. Effect the look of an elegant, tiled staircase – or simply add a splash of color to a drab space by covering risers with a graphic print. Design you own mural. Cut flowers birds and the like from one decorative wallpaper and paste then onto a wall covered in a simple, uniform motif such as a large stripe pattern or leaf print. Look up. Beautify a plain light fixture with a circular paper celling medallion or cut oval or rectangular backing plates on the wall behind sconces.

A neutral color is nice and soothing but a bit of color can make a room more exciting. Add bold hues to you home décor.  Start out with neutral, grays, whites and taupes the understated tones that can create a foundation for a vibrant room. Add a bold color to the visual. Use paint or accessories, or both to give the space vitality. Warm up your room with a canary shade. Throw pillows and artwork in a neutral tone will finish your look. Great way to spruce up your living room, family room or office.

Updating your home doesn’t have to be expnesive

If you are planning on selling your home staging is key.  You can stage your home on a budget. The first thing is curb appeal. Spend some time trimming hedges and planting fresh flower beds with bark. Inside remove all the clutter and personal photos and knickknacks and other junk. Slim down on the furniture.  Put larger pieces of furniture in storage.  Be prepared to constantly keep it clean.  Removing clutter and extra furniture is important, it will definitely make the home feel fresh and clean. Paint the front door, get a new mailbox, add new house numbers and a new doormat. Paint the entire house inside and out or pressure wash the vinyl or aluminum. Clean the light fixtures and air vents and update kitchen cabinets with paint and new knobs. Little things like matching towels in the bathroom , accent pillows on the couch and fresh flowers can be welcoming to homebuyers. Your home will look like you had a professional interior designer decorate and you you will enjoy the new home you created while in the process of selling.

Decorating does not have to cost a fortune

There are plenty of ways to decorate your home without spending a fortune on an interior designer.  One of my favorite ways is to go to garage sales and flea markets and find antiques (or almost antiques) made with real wood with classic designs and much more detail than the affordable furniture you can buy today.  They often comes with wheels and if they have wheels it is well worth it because I frequently rearrange my home every time I pull out the furniture to vacuum. It is a great way to build a room around one treasure you may stumble upon. To me those rooms become the most comfortable.

curb Appeal Is So Important when putting your house on the market

First impressions are so important. As soon as a potential buyer pulls up to your house they will feel the vibe. Here is a list of beautiful easy to care for plants that you can plant. Up the serenity in your own garden room with these easy care, low water plants.
Santa Barbara Daisy, Mexican Feather Grass, French Lavender, Beard Tongue, Butterfly Bush, New Zealand Flax and Hedge Lavender. Staging the interior of your home is equally important. Be sure to use cut flowers from the yard for open houses and any appointments.

Fun Ways to Decorate and Create Art with Wallpaper

Here are a couple of ideas on how to inexpensively freshen up the interior of a room with wallpaper. Arrange it like art. Mount wallpaper remnants on fiberboard frame, then hang it on the wall. Paper the furniture. You can cover a coffee table or bureau surface and coat with polyurethane or a piece of glass cut to fit. Fake a headboard. Attach a paper rectangle to the wall above the bed; make sure your paper is a few inches wider than the mattress. Jazz up an old chest of drawers. Unscrew the knobs and lightly sand the surface. Cut strips to size – slightly smaller than the drawer front to create a framed effect, or large enough to completely cover the space and adhere. Replace the knobs and you have a new chest of drawers.
Great way to redecorate a room and add an interesting interior design look to an old room or piece of furniture.
